September 2015

Bike 4 The Brain Bicycle Event
Bike for the Brain, a 501(c)(3) organization, hosts an annual community bicycle ride event for mental health. Our goals are to raise funds for Kansas City area agencies that enhance the lives of people with mental health challenges, and to raise public awareness that mental health disorders are brain-based, emotional, and behavioral experiences that are both common and treatable.  This year the bicycle ride will take place on Labor Day, Monday, September 7th and Panera Bread will donate bagels and cream cheese from our Mission cafe.

Truman Library Teacher Appreciation
On Thursday, September 10th, a Teacher Appreciation Event will be held at the Truman Library, for area educators.  Panera Bread will donate petite cookies from our Independence cafe, for the teachers to enjoy.

Plaza 10K
On Sunday, September 13th, a 10K race will be run on the Country Club Plaza, to benefit Children’s TLC.   KidsTLC, located in Olathe, Kansas, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1972 by the Johnson County Young Matrons. The mission of KidsTLC is to provide opportunities that transform kids and families in crisis while ensuring a safe environment. KidsTLC strives to accomplish its mission by providing a continuum of care with innovative and successful in-patient psychiatric treatment, resource family services, community outreach, behavioral health and autism treatment for kids and families.  Panera Bread will donate bagels from our Plaza cafe for the runners and volunteers at the 10K.

ALS Walk to Defeat ALS
The walk put on by the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association in Wichita will be held on Saturday, September 19th. Our cafe on Rock Road in Wichita will donate bagels and cream cheese for the walkers and volunteers.
