June 12 - Fire Fighters Good and Welfare Golf Tournament

The Independence, MO Fire Fighters present the 2nd Annual Local 781 Good & Welfare Golf Tournament at Winterston Golf Course on June 12th. Last year $6,000 was raised and four $1,000 scholarships were given to each high school in Independence and $2,000 was given to Community Service League Adopt A Family program during Christmas time. Panera Bread will donate bagels and cream cheese for the golfers and volunteers.

June 15 - Whisper Walk for Ovarian Cancer

The Whisper Walk for Ovarian Cancer Awareness of Topeka, KS presents the Whisper Walk of Topeka, a noncompetitive walk with the purposes of 1) raising awareness about ovarian cancer in Topeka and the surrounding communities; 2) raising funds to promote education about the symptoms of ovarian cancer; and 3) promoting fellowship and support among ovarian cancer survivors and their families and friends. The walk will take place on June 15th in Gage Park, Topeka and Panera Bread will donate bagels and cream cheese for the participants.

June 15 - Pathways Community Health Hero Up and Run For the Children

The 2nd Annual Hero Up and Run For the Children 1 mile walk/5K/10K Run/Walk to benefit For the Children Foundation. The event will take place on June 15th at the Odessa, MO outlet mall. Money raised through this healthy, fun activity will fund accessible mental and behavioral healthcare services, programs and activities to children and families in the central Missouri communities. Panera Bread is happy to donate bagels and cream cheese for the Run/Walk.

June 22 - Walk for Change

On June 22, “Walk for Change” will take place at the Charles B. Wheeler Airport in Downtown Kansas City. The goal is to raise $150,000 which will directly benefit programs that include feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless and protective services for the youth of Catholic Charities. Panera Bread will provide bagels and cream cheese for the walkers and volunteers.

June 23 - Head for the Cure

The Head for the Cure Foundation in Wichita, KS will host its second annual Head for the Cure 5K on Sunday, June 23rd at the Sedgwick County Park. Each year some 200,000 people in the US will be diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. Head for the Cure is dedicated to raising awareness and funding in the fight again brain cancer. Panera Bread will donate bagels and cream cheese for the race participants and volunteers.
