Assistant Manager
Reports to General Manager
Panera Bread only hires Assistant Managers from outside of the Company and all other positions such as General Managers and District Managers are promoted from within.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Ensure the bakery/café adheres to P.E.G.S. (People Environment Great
Service) standards.
- Delegate assignments to associates to meet customer needs and exceed expectations.
- Provide accurate and detailed financial records to include cash management,
food cost, scheduling/labor tracking and all internal controls for store
measurements.
- Be a team player with fellow managers and associates while helping the
store and Original Bread to meet goals.
- Must be able to work in the entire Metro area in which they are applying
for
Qualification / Experience Requirements
- BA in related field is desirable. High School graduate or equivalent required.
- One to three years experience in restaurant or retail operations is preferred.
- Must have excellent communication skills and ability to use those in verbal
interactions as well as in written form.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work up to a 10 hour shift while standing or walking to
perform essential functions.
- Will be required to lift up to forty pounds during the course of a workday.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and associates to
ensure the safety of individuals and customer needs.
- Will require bending, stooping, and occasional use of a ladder.
